TOTAL WEIGHT GAIN?: Somewhere between 6-8 pounds. It varies and I don't routinely check my weight. Maybe once a week, or right before a doctors appointment so I can mentally prepare! Hahaha! I am actually surprised I haven't gained 30 pounds already because of all the crap I have been eating. I'm finally feeling like eating healthier things again, although meat doesn't sound that appealing.
MATERNITY CLOTHES: Pretty much always.
SLEEP?: I'm still sleeping pretty good. I've actually felt pretty energized this trimester, but the last week or so I've been feeling sooooo tired. I'm sure it has something to do with being a full-time working, 'single' mom. Major props to the single mamas out there!
BEST MOMENT/S THIS WEEK?: Well, it's been three weeks since I've updated, so there have been a few best moments. I eased back into work after a much needed vacation, got to see baby boy via ultrasound - twice... once with our OB and once with the perinatologist - FINALLY! He looks super healthy and is very active, although he was burying his head in my side and wouldn't show us how cute he is! He even had his hand over his face, which he was opening and closing. Our OB thought he was measuring big, perinatologist says he's measuring on time. Pretty sure this means he must just have a big head like his sister, daddy, grandad, great grandma, etc! hahah ;) He also said he was going to recommend weekly progesterone shots to prevent me from going into preterm labor again. I don't have another appointment with my OB until the end of March, so I have time to do some research and see what he says. Another best... went to the dentist - no cavities! Hooray! I do have pregnancy induced gingivitis, again. I also had it with Veda.
WORST MOMENT THIS WEEK?: There are no 'worst' moments, it's just been hard to have Brett traveling so much. Don't get me wrong, I love that he's working, but it's hard when we have no family that lives nearby and only a couple of babysitters that we can trust for 14 hour days. He was in Dubai (for a very brief trip - lots of travel time) and then SLO, then Vegas is coming up followed by New Mexico and the following month Scottsdale and then back up to the central coast. He's going to do only local gigs starting in June, just in case!
MISS ANYTHING?: Going out, having no responsibilities! Drinking wine or beer or margaritas! :)
MOVEMENT?: So much movement! Wow! This little dude is SO active right now and he's strong! These kicks are big! They can be felt from the outside already. A few weeks ago they were just tiny little flicks, I'm not sure what he's doing in there but he's working hard at it!
FOOD CRAVINGS?: No real cravings. I just don't want to eat meat so I've been worried about my protein intake. I usually eat 2 hard boiled eggs for breakfast on the days I work and I eat greek yogurt with peanut butter. This week I bought some protein bars, but if you have any suggestions, I'm all ears.
LABOR SIGNS?: No
SYMPTOMS / MOODS?: Just starting to feel tired again. I hope it's just because I worked 3 in a row, one off, one CRAZY day on and then became single mommy for 12 days. I was feeling great a couple of weeks ago, then again, I was off work for two weeks. Maybe that's the key, just stop working ;)
BELLY BUTTON IN or OUT?: In.
WEDDING RINGS OFF or ON?: On.
LOOKING FORWARD TO...? Having Brett home! It's nice to have a helping hand. On top of it all, I decided it would be a good time to try to potty train Veda because I have 4 days off in a row. Um, day one, not so successful. Occasionally she doesn't mind sitting on the potty, usually for a long period of time. Nothing happens, she gets up and walks away and then says, "Hey!" as pee is running down her legs. She gets jelly beans as a reward but did not get many today. I want to quit already but I know I have to stick to it. I'm sure it'll take a few days before she understands. We have been going to this Princess Ballet class once a week for the last month. This week was the last of the month and I told Brett, I don't think she likes it, she's so shy and won't cooperate at all, it'll be our last class. Then we went and she did everything she was asked and was not clinging to me at all, so the moral of the story is, it just takes time and patience.
