19, 20, 21 weeks

Add caption

HOW FAR ALONG?: 19, 20, 21 weeks.  Poor baby, already getting the short end of the stick!  It doesn't help that my photographer has been crazy busy traveling so therefore hasn't forced me into photos!

TOTAL WEIGHT GAIN?:  Somewhere between 6-8 pounds.  It varies and I don't routinely check my weight.  Maybe once a week, or right before a doctors appointment so I can mentally prepare! Hahaha!  I am actually surprised I haven't gained 30 pounds already because of all the crap I have been eating.  I'm finally feeling like eating healthier things again, although meat doesn't sound that appealing.

MATERNITY CLOTHES: Pretty much always.

SLEEP?: I'm still sleeping pretty good.  I've actually felt pretty energized this trimester, but the last week or so I've been feeling sooooo tired.  I'm sure it has something to do with being a full-time working, 'single' mom.  Major props to the single mamas out there!

BEST MOMENT/S THIS WEEK?: Well, it's been three weeks since I've updated, so there have been a few best moments.  I eased back into work after a much needed vacation, got to see baby boy via ultrasound - twice... once with our OB and once with the perinatologist - FINALLY! He looks super healthy and is very active, although he was burying his head in my side and wouldn't show us how cute he is!  He even had his hand over his face, which he was opening and closing. Our OB thought he was measuring big, perinatologist says he's measuring on time.  Pretty sure this means he must just have a big head like his sister, daddy, grandad, great grandma, etc! hahah ;) He also said he was going to recommend weekly progesterone shots to prevent me from going into preterm labor again.  I don't have another appointment with my OB until the end of March, so I have time to do some research and see what he says.  Another best... went to the dentist - no cavities! Hooray! I do have pregnancy induced gingivitis, again.  I also had it with Veda.

WORST MOMENT THIS WEEK?:  There are no 'worst' moments, it's just been hard to have Brett traveling so much.  Don't get me wrong, I love that he's working, but it's hard when we have no family that lives nearby and only a couple of babysitters that we can trust for 14 hour days.  He was in Dubai (for a very brief trip - lots of travel time) and then SLO, then Vegas is coming up followed by New Mexico and the following month Scottsdale and then back up to the central coast.  He's going to do only local gigs starting in June, just in case!

MISS ANYTHING?:  Going out, having no responsibilities! Drinking wine or beer or margaritas! :)

MOVEMENT?: So much movement! Wow! This little dude is SO active right now and he's strong! These kicks are big! They can be felt from the outside already.  A few weeks ago they were just tiny little flicks, I'm not sure what he's doing in there but he's working hard at it!

FOOD CRAVINGS?: No real cravings.  I just don't want to eat meat so I've been worried about my protein intake.  I usually eat 2 hard boiled eggs for breakfast on the days I work and I eat greek yogurt with peanut butter.  This week I bought some protein bars, but if you have any suggestions, I'm all ears.

LABOR SIGNS?: No

SYMPTOMS / MOODS?: Just starting to feel tired again.  I hope it's just because I worked 3 in a row, one off, one CRAZY day on and then became single mommy for 12 days.  I was feeling great a couple of weeks ago, then again, I was off work for two weeks.  Maybe that's the key, just stop working ;)

BELLY BUTTON IN or OUT?: In.

WEDDING RINGS OFF or ON?: On.

LOOKING FORWARD TO...?  Having Brett home!  It's nice to have a helping hand. On top of it all, I decided it would be a good time to try to potty train Veda because I have 4 days off in a row.  Um, day one, not so successful.  Occasionally she doesn't mind sitting on the potty, usually for a long period of time.  Nothing happens, she gets up and walks away and then says, "Hey!" as pee is running down her legs.  She gets jelly beans as a reward but did not get many today.  I want to quit already but I know I have to stick to it.  I'm sure it'll take a few days before she understands.  We have been going to this Princess Ballet class once a week for the last month.  This week was the last of the month and I told Brett, I don't think she likes it, she's so shy and won't cooperate at all, it'll be our last class.  Then we went and she did everything she was asked and was not clinging to me at all, so the moral of the story is, it just takes time and patience.

18 weeks

HOW FAR ALONG?: 18 weeks, it's a little scary to know that if this baby comes as early as Veda, we are past the half way mark! Whoa.

TOTAL WEIGHT GAIN?:  I believe we're up to 6.5 pounds.

MATERNITY CLOTHES: Pretty much always.

SLEEP?: Still no issues, I am remembering how difficult it's going to be to turn from side to side in a few months.  While we were on vacation I was talking to some other moms and we were discussing child labor... Not really ready to go through all that again... yikes, it wasn't even bad for me, it's the 'after' that I'm not looking forward to.  You know, like when it takes 30 minutes just to urinate and it involves a water bottle, medicated pain spray, tucks pads... how did I get to this?

BEST MOMENT/S THIS WEEK?: Seeing Veda on Monday morning!!!  She said, 'mommy!' and gave me a little smile.  When I pulled her out, she immediately wanted Gramma to hold her and hug her but that's ok.

WORST MOMENT THIS WEEK?:  My mom had to go back to work, so she left Wednesday morning.  Veda has really been missing her.  Although she was here for 2 full weeks, I only got a few days with her.

MISS ANYTHING?:  I actually don't this week.  Shocking!

MOVEMENT?: Yes!! Yay! Little baby kicks.  So much fun :)

FOOD CRAVINGS?: No cravings.  I feel hungry, don't really know what I want, eat a little bit and then feel full. It's way to early for this baby to be crowding my space, so many my stomach shrank a little bit on vacation.  Brett and I are both leery of foods from other countries.  It says beef... but is it squirrel?

LABOR SIGNS?: No, mon.

SYMPTOMS / MOODS?: I am feeling pretty good still :)  Especially after my wonderful pregnancy massage this week! And I was still off work all this week.  Back to the grind on Monday.

BELLY BUTTON IN or OUT?: In.

WEDDING RINGS OFF or ON?: On.

LOOKING FORWARD TO...?  Hopefully getting in to see the perinatologist soon!  Switching health insurance mid-pregnancy is not recommended.

17 Weeks

HOW FAR ALONG?: 17 weeks

TOTAL WEIGHT GAIN?:  I'm on vacation, no scales allowed!

MATERNITY CLOTHES: Not too many here in Jamaica, mostly bikinis.  I'm in the awkward, 'is she pregnant or is this a beer gut?' phase.

SLEEP?: So much sleep this week! It's been glorious!

BEST MOMENT/S THIS WEEK?: I think being on a much needed vacation pretty much sums it up :)

WORST MOMENT THIS WEEK?: It's not the worst, but it was very windy on our trip and rained many days which was a bummer but it's all good.  We got away and got to relax!  Even if the spa won't massage a pregnant lady! Grr, Burbank Spa & Garden, I'm coming home to you!

MISS ANYTHING?:  I wish I were able to do more adventures on this trip, like ziplining and rafting.  They won't let us preggos do anything really... I still did Dunn's River Falls, I just ignored the signs.

MOVEMENT?: None that I can feel just yet.

FOOD CRAVINGS?: Processed American Food.  HAHAHA

LABOR SIGNS?: No.

SYMPTOMS / MOODS?: I've been feeling pretty good the last few weeks.

BELLY BUTTON IN or OUT?: In.

WEDDING RINGS OFF or ON?: On.

LOOKING FORWARD TO...?  While we are having a great time on vacation, we miss Veda Belle so much!  I cannot wait to squeeze her and give her a million kisses!
